How payments work
Simple, protected payments from quote to completion.
When you accept a quote, FixAll-er uses secure payment protection to help give both customers and professionals confidence throughout the job. Payments are processed securely using Stripe.
01Accept your quote
Choose the professional and quote that's right for you.
02Payment protection
You'll be asked to securely authorise the agreed payment through FixAll-er. This helps confirm that funds are available for the job.
03The professional completes the work
Once payment protection is confirmed, the professional can carry out the agreed work.
For longer-running jobs, FixAll-er may securely renew the payment authorisation so protection remains in place. You'll be notified if any action is required.
04Completion and payment
Once the work is finished, the completion process begins. You have 72 hours to raise an issue before the payment is released through the platform, in accordance with FixAll-er's existing payment process.
If there's a problem, raise it through FixAll-er before payment is released.

No. Payment follows FixAll-er's completion and release process.

Payment protection may need to be renewed. FixAll-er will guide you if any action is required.

Raise the issue through FixAll-er before the payment is released so it can enter the existing dispute process.

Customers can post jobs without a platform fee. Professionals can join and quote for free, with FixAll-er charging a 5% platform fee on successfully completed work.

Is FixAll-er free to join?+
Yes. It is free for customers to join and post jobs, and free for professionals to create a profile and browse available work.
Do professionals pay to submit quotes?+
No. There is no fee simply for submitting a quote. Professionals choose which jobs they want to quote on and are not charged per lead.
How are professionals verified?+
Professionals upload their documents through the platform and a member of the FixAll-er team reviews them before the Verified badge is granted. The badge only appears once that review has been completed.
What checks are performed?+
Depending on the trade, this can include checks relating to identity, proof of address, public liability insurance and qualifications such as trade cards or scheme registrations. Insurance is mandatory for verified professionals and must be in date.
How does payment work?+
Once you accept a quote, you pay through FixAll-er rather than direct to a stranger. The payment is authorised and held while the work is carried out.
When is payment released?+
Payment is released to the professional when you confirm the job is complete. If you do not confirm, and no dispute has been raised, payment is released automatically 72 hours after the professional marks the work as finished.
What happens if something goes wrong?+
You can raise a dispute against the job from within the platform. Payment release is paused on disputed jobs while the FixAll-er team reviews the case, and full or partial refunds can be issued where appropriate.
Can I choose which professional I hire?+
Always. You compare every quote alongside the professional's profile, verification status and reviews, and you decide who gets the job. Nobody is assigned to you.
Can professionals choose which jobs they quote on?+
Yes. Professionals browse jobs in their area and categories and quote only on the ones they actually want.
How do reviews work?+
Reviews can only be left once a job has been completed through FixAll-er, and both the customer and the professional can review each other. They are not open to anyone who has not worked together on the platform.
What is the Founding Member badge?+
A permanent gold badge awarded automatically to the first 100 customers and the first 100 verified professionals to join FixAll-er. There is nothing to apply for and no payment involved.
Which areas does FixAll-er currently cover?+
We are launching across the West Midlands, including Birmingham, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell, West Bromwich, Coventry and the surrounding towns.
How does FixAll-er make money?+
FixAll-er is free to join for both customers and professionals. Once a job is successfully completed and paid for through the platform, we deduct a small percentage of the completed job value as a platform service fee before the remaining balance is paid to the professional. This fee covers secure payments, platform maintenance, customer support, fraud prevention and ongoing improvements. The exact percentage is clearly displayed before a professional accepts work, so there are no hidden charges.
